Who let the Dads out? - Saturday 18th January 9.30 - 11.30am
Meeting on the 3rd Saturday of every month in the Church, we are for dads, grandads, male carers and their children aged 0-7 years. The cost is £4 per family, including unlimited play, time to chat, breakfast roll, tea, coffee and kids’ food. We would love to see you!
Prayer in St Peter’s
A reminder that there is a welcome for anyone to join a small group who meet to pray in Chapel each Tuesday morning from 9.00am for half an hour. We use the set Bible readings for the day as a basis for our prayers.
Hart Foodbank Update
January is a ‘No food month’ for Hart Foodbank, and instead they are asking for donations of:
Washing up liquid
Café 46 and Discoveries are great places to get involved in meeting people, being part of a team and contributing to the outreach of St Peter's through our Community Hub. There are lots of different tasks which can be undertaken along with full training. So, if you have a few hours to spare and would like to try something new, why not get in contact with Leigh in Café 46 or Sue in Discoveries.
Climate Change seminar
Protecting the environment and living sustainably can seem too big to manage. There are practical actions that we can all take as individuals and on 14th January at 7pm there is a seminar at Christchurch Winchester which will outline some of these. The speaker is Dr Ruth Valerio who is an environmentalist, theologian, social activist and author. She is a really inspiring speaker who will be talking about practical ways to live more sustainably. On that note, Michael and Nicki Duncalfe are happy to give people a lift and have three seats in their car available (get in touch on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07890440991).
Tickets are £5 and are in high demand as the event has already had to move to a larger venue. If you are interested, there are more details at:
Ladies Curry Night – Tuesday 4th February, 7:15pm for 7:30pm
Always popular, we are planning another Ladies Curry Night at Cinnamon Bay, Yateley. The cost is £14, drinks are extra. If you would like to come please contact Sylvie Collins at the Yateley Centre, tel 07976 523124 or email her at:
email@example.com. Places are by booking only. Cash payment would be appreciated on the night.
Discoveries and eBay
We are now able to sell a variety of donated goods via our dedicated Discoveries eBay charity portal. To help us use this new opportunity we are keen to find a few people who can assist us with the pricing, uploading and packing of items for sale.
If you would like to know more about this new venture please speak to Sue, Claire or Carol in Discoveries.
On Saturday 25th January we will be hosting a ‘Working Party’ in the Church. This is an ideal time to give the Church a thorough clean and repair, after we have had so many visitors at Christmas, and to freshen up the building for both the year ahead and our new vicar! The more people that can join us, the deeper the clean! Please do think about coming to help for just an hour, for the morning or afternoon, or stay all day! More details to follow, but if you have any questions please see Kate Casselton (Church End) or Wendy Thompson (Centre).
