A NEW WINE DISCIPLESHIP YEAR IN YATELEY
What’s it all about?
September 2021 - July 2022
What is NWDY?
The New Wine Discipleship Year (NWDY) is a 10-month gap year programme for 18 to 24 year old Christian Students.
Working with Young People in St Peter’s Yateley.
One day each week at a local hub
Weekends Away / Mission trip - if we can do it!!
New Wine Leadership Conference
Team place at New Wine United
WHAT IT COSTS
Each Student pays £1000 for the course, and St Peter’s contributes an additional £500. St Peter’s will also arrange board & lodging, provide pocket money and a transport allowance.
Once a week, the student will join with others at a nearby hub to attend seminars and practical sessions. This is the foundation of the Discipleship Year, where you will learn theology, skills, and life lessons.
The student will spend an agreed amount of time each week working with young people (secondary school and above age group) alongside a new Youth Team at St Peter’s.
WHY DO IT?
This is an amazing opportunity to discover things about yourself and your faith. It will give you time and space to discover new gifts and talents, to gain valuable experience working with others as part of a team, to serve God and be a part of building His Kingdom in Yateley. It could be a year that will shape the rest of your life!
Being a part of St Peter’s will be an exciting experience in itself but our desire is to build a vibrant youth community with opportunities to lead worship and learn as part of a leadership team. You will join other NWDY students from across the UK at the Weekends Away and the New Wine Leadership Conference and (possibly) mission trip, either in the UK or abroad. In August St Peter’s takes a crowd to New Wine where you will serve on a team.
WHAT’S ST PETER’S LIKE?
You can find out all about us at www.stpetersyateley.org and see who we are and what we do. Like Churches across the country, we are just coming out of lockdown with new leadership and fresh ideas about how we grow into the future. We would love you to help us to do this!
You will have a ministry supervisor and a spiritual mentor and, as part of the local hub, we will put you in touch with others in the area. We are seeking to invite two students to work with us in 2021-2022 so there will be a buddy for you straight away.
First of all – get in touch! Email our church administrator and she will arrange for you to come and visit us. We’ll show you round and chat about how it might work for you. Or you can apply right now!
